Thrilled to announce I will be a part of the 9 man roster for Orica GreenEDGE.
It's felt like forever since I last rode a Grand Tour, the truth is, it has. Missing last years Tour de France was no doubt the biggest disappointment ever and knowing that I have the chance this year to make up for it makes things a lot better. The team has assembled a great team and it is most probably the most diverse team we have had in a few years. We have a guy for each kind of terrain and it's not only a good thing, but it also means that everyday we will have a lot of work to do but with this team our strength has always been our cohesion and I have very little doubts that we can pull off a stage win, although not easy, I think we will all be disappointed to leave France without a victory from someone in the team.

Personally for me it's an achievement making the team ,there are so many good riders to choose from that I am happy for the faith and trust the team has in me to tackle the worlds biggest stage race. The Tour is really where my career took off and its great to go back there and hopefully add something more to my list of achievements. Unfortunately, I dont fancy myself getting the chance to wear the Maillot Jaune this year as it starts with a prologue but anything is possible in France and choosing the right breakaway one day may just open the door. A stage win would be great, but we'll have to hope that my legs do the talking when my chance is there. I would love to win a stage!

Its the first time we will have 4 South Africans in the race and hopefully this is the start of good things to come for our country. I'm looking forward to the start in Utrecht and getting things underway come the 4th July. Enjoy watching the madness and don't forget to keep sending your messages of support during Le Tour via facebook and twitter, it's great to read before or after a long day.
