GP Carnago - Report
August 6, 2009

That hurt a bit
Today was my first race back in Europe. GP Carnago is definitely a race that would suit me but without any racing the past 4 months I didnt come expecting much. I had an alright day and managed to stay out of trouble for most of the day until it lit up on the final 2 laps and I lost the group on one of the climbs. The climbs were not long at all and any guy with good condition could've won. In the end, Francesco Ginanni won and our team tried with Scgona 3km to go up the last climb but it didnt work out. I am at least happy that I wasn't the first guy out of the race and I know that I am not too far off from doing a really good race soon. Did I mention the heat, it was really unpleasant today! Bottle after bottle, at least 2 bottles every 20km.

Once I got dropped, I decided to do 20km extra just to cool down a bit, I don't want to come Saturday with sore legs on the start line.

It was really cool being back and into the racing with my team, even signing on to start felt good. Actually a few riders came up to me finding out how I was, good to see sometimes it's more than just racing!

I race GP Camoire on Sat, bit tougher than today.
